radchenko ludmilla

omsk 1978

Ludmilla Radchenko was born in Omsk, Siberia on 11 November 1978, where in 1999 she graduated in Fashion Design. In the same year she moved to Italy to work as a model, show-girl and actress. In 2009 she chose to pursue her greatest passion: painting. Instinctive and vital, her art drove her toward Pop Realism. Since December 2010 her first catalogue “Power Pop” edited by Skira could be found in Feltrinelli libraries with a critic essay by Fortunato D’Amico. Ludmilla created a painting for a champion of moto GP Jorge Lorenzo, for F1 world’s champion Sebastian Vettel, for the rock star Jamiroquai. Far from presenting the object again and again in an hyperbolic and obsessive way as seen in the “classic” pop tradition, Radchenko loads it with social content in open accusation to its exploitation. Radchenko doesn't limit her interest to canvas but spreads her touch to fashion and design as well. The “Siberian Soup” FullART by Ludmilla Radchenko was registered as a new brand in 2013. In 2018 Mondadori Electa will publish the artist’s first official book, “From Siberia with Pop”, on the occasion of Ludmilla’s 10th year career anniversary. Technique

TECNICA COLLAGE, ACRILICO E RESINA SU TELA.

NEL 2015, IN OCCASIONE DI EXPO ED ISPIRATA DAL TEMA, L'ARTISTA SI È DEDICATA AD UNA SERIE INTERAMENTE RIVOLTA AL CIBO, CHE SI RIVELA TUTT'OGGI UNA DELLE PIÙ POP MAI REALIZZATE; IL TEMA DELL'ALIMENTAZIONE, ATTUALISSIMO, ESPLORA ED ANALIZZA IRONICAMENTE IL TREND DEL CONSUMO ODIERNO, ANCHE ATTRAVERSO DEI CHIARI RICHIAMI ALLA CRISI IN CUI VERSANO ALCUNI PAESI DEL MONDO. DIETRO LA COMUNQUE EVIDENTE VIVACITÀ DEI COLORI, L'OBIETTIVO DI QUESTE OPERE È STIMOLARE LA RIFLESSIONE DELLO SPETTATORE, GUIDANDOLO VERSO UNA MAGGIORE CONSAPEVOLEZZA. OGNUNA DELLE SEI OPERE DELLA SERIE PRESENTA UNA SUA FORTE PERSONALITÀ, CONFERITALE DALL’ARTISTA SIBERIANA ATTRAVERSO CONIUGANDO LA TECNICA DEL COLLAGE CON UN MAESTOSO LAVORO DI DETTAGLI REALIZZATI A MANO IN RESINA, ACRILICO E SMALTO: L'IMPATTO VISIVO RISULTA PER QUESTO MATERICO E TRIDIMENSIONALE, D'ISPIRAZIONE QUASI TATTILE. POP BURGER, OPERA D'ARTE 100X100CM DI LUDMILLA RADCHENKO REALIZZATA NEL 2015, SERIE "POP FOOD", TECNICA COLLAGE, ACRILICO E RESINA SU TELA. “POP BURGER” È DOMINATO DA UN PANINO FORMATO MAXI, TIPICO HAMBURGER DA FAST-FOOD COME QUELLI DI MCDONALD’S, CHE QUI È ANCHE RICHIAMATO CON UNA “M” ARROTONDATA E MOLTO POP SOVRIMPRESSA SUL PANINO STESSO, IL QUALE RAPPRESENTA LA CONCEZIONE MODERNA DI CIBO VELOCE “MORDI E FUGGI”. IL MARCHIETTO LATERALE “EAT ME”, “MANGIAMI”, RAPPRESENTA DA UN LATO LA TENTAZIONE DELLA GOLA E DALL’ALTRO L’ASPETTO CONSUMISTICO DI QUESTO TREND CHE ORMAI È ABITUDINE PER LA MAGGIOR PARTE DELLA GENTE, E CHE PUÒ DIVENTARE DAVVERO NOCIVO SE NON REGOLATO IN QUALCHE MODO: ECCO IL PERCHÉ DEL CARTELLO DI PERICOLO COL SIMBOLO DEL VELENO CHE CHIUDE L’OPERA IN BASSO A DESTRA. IN 2015, ON THE OCCASION OF EXPO AND INSPIRED BY THE THEME, THE ARTIST DEVOTED HERSELF TO A SERIES ENTIRELY DEVOTED TO FOOD, WHICH IS STILL ONE OF THE MOST POP EVER MADE TODAY; THE THEME OF FOOD, VERY TOPICAL, IRONICALLY EXPLORES AND ANALYZES THE TREND OF CONSUMPTION TODAY, ALSO THROUGH CLEAR REFERENCES TO THE CRISIS FACING SOME COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD. BEHIND THE EVIDENT VIVACITY OF THE COLORS, HOWEVER, THE GOAL OF THESE ARTWORKS IS TO STIMULATE THE VIEWER'S REFLECTION, GUIDING HIM TOWARDS GREATER AWARENESS. EACH OF THE SIX WORKS IN THE SERIES HAS ITS OWN STRONG PERSONALITY, CONFERRED BY THE SIBERIAN ARTIST THROUGH COMBINING THE COLLAGE TECHNIQUE WITH A MAJESTIC WORK OF HAND-MADE DETAILS IN RESIN, ACRYLIC AND ENAMEL: THE VISUAL IMPACT IS FOR THIS MATERIAL AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL, ALMOST TACTILE INSPIRATION. POP BURGER, 100X100CM ARTWORK BY LUDMILLA RADCHENKO MADE IN 2015, "POP FOOD" SERIES, COLLAGE TECHNIQUE, ACRYLIC AND RESIN ON CANVAS. "POP BURGER" IS DOMINATED BY A MAXI-SIZED SANDWICH, A TYPICAL FAST-FOOD HAMBURGER LIKE MCDONALD'S, WHICH IS ALSO REFERRED HERE WITH A ROUNDED AND VERY POP "M" SUPERIMPOSED ON THE SANDWICH ITSELF, WHICH REPRESENTS THE MODERN CONCEPT OF FOOD FAST "HIT AND RUN". THE SIDE MARK "EAT ME", REPRESENTS ON THE ONE HAND THE TEMPTATION OF THE GLUTTONY AND ON THE OTHER THE CONSUMERIST ASPECT OF THIS TREND WHICH IS NOW A HABIT FOR MOST PEOPLE, AND WHICH CAN BECOME REALLY HARMFUL IF NOT REGULATED IN SOME WAY: THIS IS THE REASON FOR THE DANGER SIGN WITH THE POISON SYMBOL THAT CLOSES THE WORK AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT.
